Born and bred in sunny Brisbane, ex-motor mechanic Donna Cartsens tried her hand at stand-up comedy and won the Triple J comedy competition, before stumbling into circus. Donna has performed with Vulcana Women’s Circus since 1999, and she co founded Circus Minimus with Tamsin Mc Guin in 2000. Not surprisingly, clowning is Donna’s thing, and she has been known to perform more than the occasional “dodgy magic show”. Donna has recently performed her new solo show Thirty Years in a Suitcase at the Metro, and we can expect more where that came from, she says. Not wanting the portrait to mislead, Donna claims to be “more into tutu's than moustaches these days”.
